HW01ColonyIntro1:22A bat colony pours out of the attic at dusk, swirls around the wings and hunts moths by sonar, its pings lighting the roof by distance. At dawn they all stream home, all but one.HW02It's AliveIntro1:19The corners are coils in a mad lab: they charge, arcs leap between them and a storm rolls in until one huge strike brings something to life, and it lurches across the roof and blows the fuse.HW03Dump SoupIntro1:17Mom's dump soup, through a kid's eyes: leftovers fly in from both ends and splash into the pot on the porch, and the colours get worse and worse until it boils over and floods the house. Then the lumps open their eyes and hop away as frogs.HW04Bone YardIntro1:21Skeletons climb out of the roof, get assembled from bones flying in off the ends of the house, dance a mirrored routine and a conga. One falls apart, gets put back together wrong, and keeps dancing anyway.HW05Trick or TreatIntro1:26Costumed kids walk up to the front door one by one, and the house plays a gentle trick on each of them. The last kid is not scared at all, and scares the house right back.HW06Sleepy HollowIntro1:01Ichabod Crane rides in singing, until hoofbeats come from behind and the Headless Horseman bursts out with a flaming pumpkin for a head. Ichabod races across the bridge where the rider can't follow, so the Horseman hurls his head after him.HW07Is Anyone There?Intro1:22Candles on the porch table, and someone calls into the dark. Knocks answer from the ends of the house, cold drafts bend the flames, two glowing eyes dart around the roof and the table rattles until the door slams. Then the porch light comes on: it was the cat all along.HW08Gourd QuartetIntro1:22Pumpkins grow on vines along the roof, get carved, and sing a barbershop number, except the runt, who can't keep up. Then a giant pumpkin rolls in and flattens the quartet, and the runt gets the last note.HW09Full MoonIntro1:24A man walks home with his lantern as the moon comes up round the house. It is full when he reaches his door: he turns into a wolf, howls, and pounces after the moon until a cloud gets in the way.HW10The Last TrainIntro1:16A ghost train rolls into the porch station, swaps passengers and rings its bell, then laps the house faster and faster. A late little ghost chases it until the caboose scoops him up, and the whole train dives into a fog tunnel.HW11UnwrappedIntro1:12A stiff old mummy dances on the porch, shedding dust, until a cat runs off with his loose bandage end. He spins, the bandage wraps the whole house, and underneath he is very small and wearing polka-dot boxers.HW12GesundheitIntro1:16The Watcher is back, and he has a cold: watery eyes, sniffles, a sneeze so big it blows every light off the house, and then the hiccups. Somebody get that house a tissue.HW13Bone Yard BandIntro1:06The Bone Yard skeletons are back as a swing band: a rib xylophone, a femur bass, an arm-bone trombone and a skull drum kit. The drummer gets carried away in his solo, and his head goes bouncing round the house.HW14The Night OrganistIntro1:14The roofline becomes a grand pipe organ, low pipes on the left and high on the right, and a pair of ghostly hands plays a thundering toccata where every note lights its pipe. The big finish goes perfectly, except for one pipe that will not stop.HW15ScarecrowIntro1:10A flock of crows lands on the roof and creeps up on the scarecrow standing in the porch, braver with every hop, until one pecks his hand. Then he sneezes.HW16TiltIntro1:13The house is a haunted pinball table: bumpers on the corners, flippers on the porch, a jack-o'-lantern ball off the plunger, then multiball and a jackpot, until somebody shakes it too hard.HW17The WebIntro1:15A spider strings her web across the roof, one strand to a run, and every strand rings its own note when plucked. She plays a tune while she waits, until a moth blunders in, and it is far too big for the web.HW18Thirteen O'ClockIntro1:25The house is a clock tower at midnight: the corners are gears, the runs are belts and chains, and the pendulum ticks on the porch. It strikes twelve... and then thirteen, and the whole clock falls apart.SC1The WatcherIntro1:06The house wakes up. The wing fronts are eyes that look around and blink; the porch is a toothy mouth that talks, laughs and lunges.SC2WildfireIntro1:04A match strikes on the porch. Fire spreads around the corners, embers jump ahead, then blue ghost-fire races in from both ends.SC3Firefly ChaseIntro1:10A firefly blinks its way around and right through the house while flashlight beams sweep the roof from the street. Then bands of light search every corner, and three fireflies spiral in together and burst into a shower of light.SC4SpidersIntro1:01Silhouette spiders scurry, pause and leave silk across a glowing roof. Then something much bigger walks across.SC5Bad WiringIntro1:00A storm hits the old wiring: the warm white lights brown out, glitch and fall out of step, then freeze while we watch Dad at the fuse box, hearts racing. Everything goes dark, until he flips the breaker and the lights come back as if nothing happened.HW19IntermissionIntermission5:00The house glows purple and fills with candlelit orange toward the porch over five minutes while two bats flit ahead of it and a bell tolls the minutes. When it is full, the bats burst out and the show begins.NT1HearthAll nightIntro5:00Every pixel a candle. Slow gusts roll along the roof; now and then a flame nearly goes out.NT2EmbersAll nightIntro5:00A deep red bed where random pixels slowly catch orange and fade, some glitching sideways first.NT3LanternsAll nightIntro5:30Each roof section is a lantern breathing at its own pace. A lamplighter glow walks the roof end to end.NT4Night WatchAll nightIntro5:00The Watcher asleep. Half-closed eyes drift and blink, and three times a loop they open and look around.NT5SmolderAll nightIntro5:00Slow lava crawling through each roof section in its own direction, with the odd orange pop.
